Weekend Update

We had a great weekend. Hailee had a dance competition in Utah so Brad and I went with her. After practicing all week every day for 3 hours on top of ballet, and performing at "an evening of dance", she was exhausted by Friday and it was only the beginning. She's like her mom and gets very grouchy when she's tired. It was hard to get her excited to be there. We met her for her dinner break and she comes running out with a huge smile and says "mom, the guy couldn't see my number and he told me to turn it over and then he wrote my number down." I immediately thought Oh no, she's getting in trouble for being so grouchy. Apparently they have auditions and they give out scholarships. During the awards ceremony they chose probably 15 girls of finalists. They called Hailee's number and we were so excited. Then out of the 15, they chose six that actually get scholarships and they called her number again. We were so proud of her. I was proud that even though she didn't want to be there and was grouchy, she still tried and danced her heart out and it totally paid off. First time in a long time that I felt like a good parent in teaching my kids the right things to do. And yes, I forgot my camera and couldn't get a picture.

It was great to get away except for the weather followed us there and back. We had great food (Cafe Rio) and found great deals shopping (Dillards). Brad is back working in New Mexico this week and we have another dance competition in Utah. So if I don't blog this week, you'll know why.

Congrats! That's great! Where was your competition? Wouldn't it be fun to bump into each other at one of these?

Hope to see pictures! =)

That's wonderful! I always seem to forget my camera (or batteries or something) when there is something truly worth taking a picture! See you in a couple of days!
