Oh, Christmas Tree

I feel like I'm the very last person to put our tree up. I'm a little disappointed this year becuase ever since Brad and I have been married, we've had a real Christmas tree. Last year, I bought a fake one becuase it was a great deal. I thought that I'd put the fake one in the family room and then still have a real one for the formal living room. Brad has assured me that we will not be doing two trees. (what a scrooge!) We'll see who wins this argument:) We finally got the tree up and I love having it in the family room where we can always see it. The kids had a great time putting it up. Ashlyn found a santa hat that kept her busy the entire afternoon.
So what do you prefer fake or real. Trees, that is:)

Tonight, we watched "Charlie Brown Christmas" with the kids. That was a tradition when I was growing up. The kids didn't seem to like it as much as I did. I found myself still getting excited to watch it. The grinch cartoon was also a favorite of mine growing up. The kids liked that a little bit better, but they preferred to watch Kerrie Underwood sing at Christmas at Rockefeller Center. When did they get so big? I watched those cartoons even during my teenage years. Maybe I should feel embarrassed to say that. I guess it shouldn't be about what we were watching, the point is that we were spending time together.

It's okay I still get excited about the christmas charlie brown, and the grinch who stole christmas! Plus we had to do a fake christmas tree this year too, I've never done a fake one before. I personnally perfer real ones, they smell so much better!

Unfortunatly, I'm the scrooge in my family (I'm allergic to pine, so we can't have a real tree), so my kids haven't ever had a real tree. Poor guys! Fake trees mean no mess and no watering so I think they're great!

What a beautiful Tree! I just got the darling service calendar in the mail. I love it and can't believe you went to so much trouble! You are so creative. Thanks a bunch!

We bought a fake tree last year. I prefer the real ones, but what sold me was havinga prelit tree. I HATE stringing lights on the tree. So I love the fake one for that reason. Your tree is beautiful!

I'm with ya on the retro Christmas movies. I love them! And your tree! WOW. It's gorgeous.

Seriously, thanks so much for the darling hats. You made my whole month with that fun package.

Beautiful tree! I wanted to do 2 this year too but haven't had the energy to get a real tree yet this year. I love their smell but not their mess. We finally got a fake tree 3 years ago and I think it's easier. The kids can't remember having a real tree so I thought we need to do that again! Can't wait to see who wins the debate at your house... :)

My family always had a fake tree so thats what I am used too. Bryce always had a real tree but when we got married I talked him into the fake one & we have had one ever since. I think real trees smell great but I think they make a mess & fake trees are so much fuller & prettier (just my opinion). We bought us a new fake one last year & it's so nice it was a pre-lit tree & it came in two pieces so you just hook them together & the lights are already on it. It made it very easy to put up the tree. Your tree is beautiful I love the ribbon on it, good luck with the debate!

We have a fake tree now. When I was first married we had real ones but my husband is allergic and I finally gave in a few years ago (he just sneezed his way through December before)and bought a pre-lit fake tree.

That and I can't keep a real one alive.

I love the old cartoons too! My kids have never felt the same way about Charlie Brown but last year we watched the Grinch recorded on DVR over and over.

What a lovely tree Karri. I've never ever ever had a real tree. I think my dad was worried about burning our house down. Safety first! Someday I'd like to try it and just see what all the fuss is about. I'm with Marne on the pre-lit stuff though. Stringing lights is a dirty rotten job!

My kids are picky with the shows: love the grinch (cartoon only) rudolph, frosty, but weren't big fans of any of the charlie brown ones. What's up with that? Sorry, way long comment!

You aren't the last one......we did ours on Sunday as well :) And I do have other friends that don't have the trees up yet. :)

I STILL love Charlie Brown Christmas, and I'm 39 :) My kids (7, 10, 12, and 14) still love it too.... :)

We have an artificial tree...the main reason is that I jsut simply got tired of the mess and the expense every year for something that was getting thrown out each year. I don't LOVE the artificial tree, but I do love not having to vacuum every single day, and not having to replace my vacuum bag every other day :)

I have the whole house decorated, and the kids' rooms and the kitchen all have trees. I wish I had some little kitchen-y ornaments for my little tree in the kitchen....right now it's just gold and burgandy glass balls.

Blessings!
