TTA-What's in the Name

I"m so excited about this TTA (and yes, I do know it's Wednesday). I don't have it recorded anywhere else except my head and I can't rely on that too much longer.

Hailee Chiyemi- When I first got pregnant, I started to look up names on the internet. I wanted one that wasn't too popular at the time. I found the name Jacie and loved it. So it was Jacie up until about a week before I was due. I had seen Hailee in a magazine and knew that was the name for my first little girl. Chiyemi is my middle name and I got it from my Grandma Sakota. I knew I wanted to carry that on for sure.

Paige Keiko-Paige is a different story. I had the hardest time finding a name I like. I thought about Whitney, but wasn't quite sure. Well, Paige ended up coming two months early and I still had no idea what to name her so she was Baby Nelson for the first three days of her life. I had always liked the name Paige from when I was little and Brad finally made the decision to do Paige. I asked my Grandma for a list of Japanese names that she new and Keiko was on there. I need to find out more about that name if it's part of my family or what. Paige absoblutely loves her middle name.

Ashlyn Yamiko-Ashlyn's name had been picked out for about a year. We had some friends with a daughter that had that name and Brad and I both loved it. We had no idea what we were having this time so the names we had picked out were Ashlyn for a girl and we really didn't have any boy names so good thing it wasn't a boy because he would have been nameless for a couple days too. Yamiko was one of my good friends that was in my ward. She is from Japan and a great girl. I always knew that I wanted Japanese middle names for my girls, I wanted to keep the tradition of my family going.

Zackary Bradley-Maybe some of you can relate. I had no idea for boy names. And again we had no idea what we were having this time either. We had chose Olivia for a girl and didn't really know about boy names. I was sure I was having another girl and so I didn't really worry about it. Every boy name I thought of Brad would say "I knew a boy with that name and he was fat or a nerd or bald or a jerk or whatever! So I finally told Brad to choose. We knew we wanted Brad or Bradley for the middle name. Brad really like the name Zack and I didn't at first, but then it grew on me. We decided to just do Zak Bradley Nelson and that it what we put on his birth certificate. About two months later, I just couldn't do it anymore especially with that spelling. I don't really know why. So we decided to change his name to Zackary Bradley Nelson. For the longest time I thought we changed his name to Zackary Brad and that's what's on his blessing certificate. I was going through some of his things to put in his baby book and came across the name change certificate and saw that it was Zackary Bradley. What a mess. He answers to really anything though. :) I'm just glad I finally got my boy.

Karri,
Sorry I haven't written for awhile, I changed my blog page and accidently deleted my friends and family and I didn't have your e-mail address and you know how hard it is to get a hold of Lesa. Anyways, I got it off of Tiffanys.

By the way you have cute kids. I know about having a hard time to find a good boys name, I had to do it three times.

Oh my gosh I so remember that day in the parking lot! It makes me laugh thinking about it! Do you still work for the doctors and/or do that coding? And I love the middle names! So cute!

I love their Japanese middle names! That is such a treasure for them. When we named our kids I mostly just named them names I liked, and now I really wish they had a meaning or family history with them. I love all your names. And all 4 of your kids are so cute!
